Bring One for the Chipper in East Cobb
Christmas is over, so what to do with the Christmas tree?
Keep Cobb Beautiful is sponsoring “Bring One for the Chipper,” a free tree-recycling drop off at Fullers Park, 3499 Robinson Road, and Sewell Park, 2085 Lower Roswell Road.
Christmas trees can be recycled to create fuel, mulch, habitats for wildlife and other useful materials.
After January 8th, free mulch will be provided to Cobb citizens at Cobb Parks chipper locations as well as at Davey Trees (770-451-7911.)
Keep Cobb Beautiful offers Christmas tree recycling through East Cobb Home Depots as well. In appreciation of your recycling efforts, recyclers will receive a seedling while supplies last. Bring One for the Chipper is from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Bring One for the Chipper is Georgia’s annual Christmas tree recycling program. Each year, Keep Georgia Beautiful works with private sponsors to organize the recycling event. In the past, these statewide sponsors have included The Home Depot, The Davey Tree Expert Company and WXIA-TV. Numerous local sponsors and volunteers also make contributions and provide in-kind services across the state.
The Chipper program involves hundreds of Georgia communities and thousands of volunteers. Since its inception, the program has recycled over 5 million Christmas trees. The mulch from these trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards. You can support the Chipper program by bringing your cut Christmas tree to a designated drop off site or volunteering with your local coordinator to collect trees.
